Aftercare:
FIRST 72 hours (3 days):
Keep second skin wrap (the transparent bandage) on.
Shower normally, but do not excessively soak, or submerge tattoo in water.
There will be ink and bodily fluids leaking under the wrap; it’s normal!
If the wrap starts to come off, and the tattoo is exposed, do not attempt to reapply it. Instead, remove it immediately
If water gets inside the wrap, remove it immediately.
Healing Process (4 to 5 weeks):
After 3 days, remove the bandage slowly (in the shower preferably). Remember to remove bandage like a command strip by pulling down and away. Gently wash your tattoo with antibacterial soap and warm water. Let your tattoo air dry.
For the first week after bandage is removed, moisturize your tattoo with the thinnest amount of Aquaphor or A&D ointment whenever necessary.
After the first week, please continue to clean the tattoo and apply unscented/undyed lotion. Apply the smallest amount possible; only enough to keep the tattoo moisturized.
Wait until the area is completely dry after showers to apply any kind of moisturizer.
It’s normal for tattoo to flake and scab.
Clean bedding and clothing are important to avoid infection, as dirt, oils, and other substances can affect the healing process.
Always remember to keep the tattoo clean, avoid friction.
After you remove second skin bandages, it is normal for the area to be a little sticky from the adhesive. This will go away as you wash your tattoo. Do not apply excessive force to take off the stickiness.
Keep in mind a tattoo is essentially an open wound, please take good care of it by keeping it clean to avoid infection. Do not let other people, or pets, touch your new tattoo.
DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH AT YOUR TATTOO
Instead, continue to moisturize
Things to Avoid:
Avoid pool, ocean, river, lake, or pond water after two weeks
